Hauppauge Public Library taking entries for sixth annual Lustberg Amateur Photography Contest.
Hauppauge residents who have spent time behind the lens have an opportunity to show off their photography talents.
y is accepting entries for its sixth annual Lustberg Amateur Photography Contest through May 1. The search is on for a photograph that brings you into the picture, and demonstrates essential photography skills.
Hauppauge's Friends of the Arts sponsor the contest in honor of Helen and Jerome Lustberg, two Hauppauge residents who were instrumental in the founding of the public library, according to Diane Leddy, adult and senior services librarian. Helen was a pioneering member of the Friends of the Arts, who sought to create a photography contest in the name of her husband after he had passed, a mission taken up by the organization after she passed.
