HAUPPAUGE STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED TO NEWSDAY'S FALL 2015 ALL-LONG ISLAND TEAMS

Daniel Butler, director of Physical Education, Health, Family and Consumer Science, Recreation and Athletics for Hauppauge School District is proud to announce that three students-athletes were named to Newsday’s Fall 2015 All-Long Island Teams. They are:

●Senior Emily Kaplan was named Newsday First Team All-Long Island in Girls Soccer after leading the Eagles to a second consecutive League IV Championship as well as an appearance in the Suffolk County AA Girls Soccer Finals. Emily scored 20 goals and dished out 10 assists on the season to lead a potent Eagles offense.

●Senior Andrew Tsororos was named Newsday First Team All-Long Island in Boys Volleyball after guiding the Eagles to the Division II Suffolk County and the program’s first ever Long Island Championship Title. Andrew totaled 24 kills in the Long Island Championship Match to pace the Eagles as well as providing a strong blocking presence to go along with devastating serving.

Junior Katie Murphy was named Newsday First Team All-Long Island in Cross Country. Katie qualified for the New York State Championships for the second consecutive season after finishing 3rd in the New York State Qualifying Race at Sunken Meadow. Katie covered the course at Sunken Meadow in a blazing 19:42 to seal her invitation to the State Championships.

Congratulations also to Varsity Girls Soccer Players Senior Emily Kaplan (3rd Team) and Sophomore Nicole Scudero (6th Team) who received All-State Honors.

“We are so proud of these achievements and offer our sincerest congratulations and thanks to these outstanding student-athletes, their coaches, parents and families for letting us be witness to their exceptional performances this past season. They truly epitomize what it means to be a student-athlete and are excellent ambassadors for Hauppauge,” stated Butler.
