Hate Crimes Detective Visits Hauppauge HS

HAUPPAUGE, NY — Detective James Mosby of the Suffolk County Police Department’s Hate Crimes Unit visited Hauppauge High School to teach students about hate incidents during a special assembly, the school district announced.

Mosby gave real examples of hate crimes committed in Suffolk County, showing photos of evidence, and explaining the different forms of these crimes. He detailed what the consequences of one’s actions would be if they ever committed such a crime and the crime’s effect on victims.
