Hauppauge Hosts 'Inspirational' Superintendent’s Conference Day
Hauppauge staff members gave three keynote speeches.
HAUPPAUGE, NY — The Hauppauge School District held its spring Superintendent’s Conference Day on Wednesday, the district announced.
Teachers, administrators, staff and faculty gathered for a day of professional development and camaraderie led by Superintendent Donald Murphy.
The morning kicked off with three keynote speeches delivered by Hauppauge staff members with "inspirational" messages.

First, Bretton Woods Elementary teachers Tara Dungate and Veronica Weeks shared their personal stories and spoke about having the courage to believe in oneself, the importance of doing difficult things and continuing to put one foot in front of the other, no matter what.
Next, teacher Tom Bucci shared his presentation, "Words of Wisdom," in which he relayed teaching advice amassed over decades of experience.

Lastly, Pines Elementary teacher Michele Giachetti made the audience laugh with her presentation on the importance of the company one keeps.
From there, a number of employees were presented with the Superintendent’s Eagle Award, recognizing Hauppauge employees for unwavering dedication to the district and Hauppauge community. Recipients exemplify commitment, compassion, dedication, generosity, kindness, professionalism, and/or service through their actions or good deeds, according to the district.
Those who received the award were nominated by their colleagues.
"Congratulations to Tom Burke, Danielle Sukoff, Doreen Malloy, Diane Phelan and Tracy Zamek on receiving the award," the district wrote.
