Hauppauge HS Musicians Perform For 5th Graders In District

Student-musicians in the high school's chamber choir, wind ensemble and chamber orchestra put on a special concert for younger students.

HAUPPAUGE, NY — Fifth graders from across the Hauppauge School District traveled to Hauppauge High School for a special concert put on by the high school’s chamber choir, wind ensemble and chamber orchestra, the school district announced.

The concert was created to introduce the young students to the high school’s musical
offerings and give them an opportunity to not only be immersed in their performances, but also
ask questions.

The chamber choir kicked off the show by performing a song they’d been rehearsing in class. After singing the song once, the choir students went into the audience of fifth graders, teaching different sections of the audience various parts of the song. When they returned to the stage to sing it once more, the fifth graders were asked to join in, practicing the parts they’d just learned.
