Hauppauge Takes 4th and Moves On

Hauppauge Middle School’s Science Olympiad Team is pleased to announce that it won Fourth Place Overall as a Team at the Eastern Long Island Regional Science Olympiad Competition that recently was held on in Dix Hills, New York. The team will next compete in the New York State Science Olympiad, which will be held on April 7-8 in Syracuse, New York.

In addition, the following students won individual awards at the Eastern Long Island Regional Science Olympiad Competition:

●1st Place, (first time ever for Hauppauge Middle School students!), “Anatomy,”

Alex and Emma Vasilakopoulos

●2nd Place, “Reach for the Stars,” Jalaj Mehta and Joseph Mathew

●2nd Place, “Road Scholar,” Alex Vasilakopoulos and Sarah Shaik

●3rd Place, “Disease Detectives,” Alex Vasilakopoulos and Jalaj Mehta

●4th Place, “Dynamic Planet,” Joseph Mathew and Shivani Rao

●4th Place, “Fast Facts,” Alex Vasilakopoulos and Rebecca Klayman

●5th Place, “Rocks and Mineral,” Emma Vasilakopoulos and Sarah Shaik

●6th Place, “Write it/Do it,” Griffin Capece and Sahishnu Sagiraju

●6th Place, “Hovercraft,” Aaryan Chandra and Pranav Lanka
