HISTORY THROUGH THE AGES
ALMOST 300 HAUPPAUGE STUDENTS PRESENT RESEARCH PROJECTS WITH "EXPLORATION, ENCOUNTER AND EXCHANGE IN HISTORY" THEME
Close to 300 students displayed inquiry-based research projects at Hauppauge School District’s Third Annual History Fair. Exploration, Encounter and Exchange in History was the theme for the 2016 National History Day (NHD) competition in which students participated on both the Middle and High School level. The projects presented included historical papers, individual and group exhibits, documentaries, websites and performances on a diverse variety of interesting topics.
The top three projects recognized in each category at the High School Level will represent Hauppauge School District at the 2016 NHD Long Island Regional Competition at Hofstra University on March 6, 2016. “We are pleased to congratulate all of the District’s History Fair participants,” stated Doreen Gordon, director of social studies and business. “We wish those students who are continuing on to compete in the Long Island Regional Competition the best of luck.”
