While the weather and a loss to the Miller Place Panthers put a slight damper on some of the Homecoming festivities for 2015, the Eagles’ spirits still soared throughout the week for the Hauppauge School District community. Spirit Week kicked off the annual Homecoming festivities with students and teachers dressing up according to daily themes and was highlighted by the rousing Colorfest/Pep Rally on Friday, October 2, 2015.
The annual Athletic Hall of Fame Breakfast was held on Homecoming morning, October 3, 2015, at the Marriott in Islandia. Twenty-six former Hauppauge athletes and/or athletics-affiliated community members were recognized this year, including:
●TEAM: 1997 Girls’ Basketball. Players: Brittany Bullard, Carrie Burke, Megan DeMasi, Jessica Ericksen Kulesa, Jeanine Galdiero, Lisa Graham, Allison Gunther-Stack, Cheryl Gunther, Rayna Kahn-Elliot, Maureen Kelly, Shannon Nagy-Hartmann, Janet Naclero-Seward, Stephanie Teachout and Kristin Topoozian. The spectacular half-time show featured crowd-pleasing performances by Hauppauge’s marching band and nationally ranked kickline and cheerleading teams. Craig Bottner and Casey Savage also were crowned Mr. and Miss Hauppauge for 2015. The rain forced the cancelation of the ever-popular annual fireworks display. But not to worry as the fireworks display has been rescheduled for October 16, 2015 to coincide with Hauppauge School District’s annual Kicks for Cancer fund-raiser.
