A Long Island Rail Road train struck a car on the tracks near the Central Islip station Sunday evening.
LIRR service is temporarily suspended between Farmingdale and Ronkonkoma in both directions, LIRR officials said. Several people in the vehicle escaped before the train struck, according to multiple report.
