Man Killed in Brentwood Crash

A Shirley man was killed in a two-car crash in Brentwood Tuesday night.

According to police, Ronald Viscusi, 63, was driving a 2001 Lincoln south on Islip Avenue when his vehicle struck the rear of a 2001 Honda driven by Emperatriz Ortiz, 26, who was backing out of a driveway at 6 Islip Avenue at about8:30 p.m. Viscusi’s vehicle then crashed into a tree.

Viscusi was pronounced dead at the scene. Ortiz, of Amityville, was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore, where she was treated and released.

The vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
