Man Killed In Industrial Accident
The 59-year-old died in an explosion while working on Friday morning.
HAUPPAUGE, NY - A Brentwood man was killed in an industrial accident in Hauppauge on Friday morning, according to Suffolk Police.
Sergio Escobar, 59, was cutting a metal drum with a grinder at Bactolac Pharmaceutical on 620 Old Willets Path, when the drum exploded and struck Escobar at 11:45 a.m.
Escobar was transported by Central Islip Hauppauge Volunteer Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) was notified.
