Man Seriously Injured In Chain-Reaction Crash On LIE
The 27-year-old was pulled over on the side of the road with another driver when a third driver struck both cars and the man, police say.

A man was seriously injured in a chain-reaction crash on the Long Island Expressway early Sunday, according to Suffolk Police.
A 2010 Honda Sedan driven by 27-year-old Anthony Robitaille, of Centereach, and 2012 BMW sedan driven by 25-year-old Kristian Urquiza, of Brentwood, were stopped on the right shoulder of the LIE just east of exit 53 at 12:30 a.m., police said.
Both drivers were outside of their vehicles when a 2013 Ford sedan, driven by 33-year-old Desirea Coyle, of Highland Falls, struck the rear of the Honda, police said.

The Honda then struck the BMW and Robitaille, police said.
Robitaille was transported by helicopter to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Coyle was transported by ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of minor injuries.
A passenger in the BMW sustained minor injuries and declined treatment. Urquiza was not injured.
The three vehicles were impounded for safety checks. The investigation is continuing.
