Man Struck, Killed by Car on LIE
BREAKING: The 27-year-old was struck after he got out of a car that was parked on the shoulder, police say.
A 27-year-old man was struck and killed by a car on Long Island Expressway Sunday morning, police said.
According to Suffolk Police, Jonathan Nieto-Carrillo, of Hampton Bays, exited a 2004 Nissan that was pulled over to the shoulder of the eastbound LIE between exits 57 and 58 in Hauppauge when he was struck by a 2008 Mazda at about 4:45 a.m.
Nieto-Carrillo, of Hampton Bays, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police did not specify why Nieto-Carrillo got out of the Nissan.

The driver of the Mazda, 39-year-old Justin Wishnevsky, of Ridge, was not injured. He will not face criminal charges, police said.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information on the crash is asked to call Fourth Squad detectives at 631-854-8452.
