The students were nominated by their math teachers to participate in the year-long program at the Institute of Creative Problem Solving for Gifted and Talented Students at SUNY Old Westbury. The students selected for this prestigious honor rank in the top one-tenth of one percent of math students in their respective grades from across Long Island.

“We are very proud of these five students for this significant honor that they have received. Their teachers have fostered an environment where their love of math has grown and expanded over the years,” stated Director of Mathematics Lauren Knudsen. “Hauppauge School District and the Math Department are delighted to acknowledge Devin, Ryan, Keertana, Jalaj and Linette.”
