HAUPPAUGE, NY - The Family Service League recently opened a new Diagnostic, Assessment and Stabilization Hub (DASH) in Hauppauge.

The new 7,000 square foot center, located on 90 Adams Avenue, offers 24/7 crisis care for children, adults and families in Suffolk County, who struggle with mental health and substance disorder.

On March 1, FSL was joined by Suffolk County officials, Islip Town councilman John Cochrane Jr., board members, and community leaders to celebrate the ribbon-cutting of this unique crisis care center, which is the first of its kind on Long Island.

The DASH Team includes nurse practitioners in psychiatry, registered nurses, social workers, credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselors, and peer specialists.

DASH works in coordination with the FSL Mobile Response Team (MRT) to deliver crisis care to schools, businesses, homes, and other locations throughout the community. DASH is a supportive and comfortable environment where clients may stay up to 24 hours. The goal of crisis intervention is to provide quality care while reducing unnecessary use of emergency departments, inpatient care, and criminal justice services.
