Not To Miss: Honey Hill's Annual Flower Show
The Honey Hills Garden Club will display twelve flower arrangements at the Hauppauge Public Library on Saturday.

The Honey Hills Garden Club of Hauppauge will be holding their aat the Hauppauge Public Library on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The club, founded in 1965, has been holding flower shows at the library for about six years.
“This is an event that takes place during garden week, which usually falls the first full week in June,” said Marilyn Amodio, the flower show’s chairwoman.
The show will feature local plants that have been is grown in the backyards of the garden club members.

“This is a display of what you can see in Hauppauge,” Amodio said.
There will also be 12 flower arrangements on display, where some of the flowers may have been purchased. The arrangements are based on books that were chosen by the club members.

“For instance one of the members chose a book called 'The Good Earth," by Pearl S. Buck last year. She did an oriental arrangement,"the chairwoman said.
The club also maintains the perennial garden at Deepwells Mansion in St. James. In addition, Honey Hills members go to a veteran’s home in Stony Brook and the Sunrise adult home where the vets and seniors work on arrangements together.
Hauppauge Public library patrons will be asked to vote on the best flower arrangement.
