PHOTOS: Big Band Music Gets Nesconset Swinging

Hauppauge native Jerry Costanzo performed Tuesday night at the Nesconset Free Summer Concert series.

More than 500 residents got swinging to the Big Band sounds of the 1930s, 40s, 50s, and 60s with at the Nesconset Free Summer Concert series on Tuesday night.

Costanzo and the Swingtime band got things hopping with a jazz tune from Benny Goodman. Band members showed off their skills to a cheering audience as each had a brief jazz solo during the instrumental song.

Seniors of St. Catherine of Sienna Nursing Home in Smithtown were special guests for the evening, sitting in a reserved section to the right of the gazebo.

The , sponsored by the Nesconset Chamber of Commerce and Legis. John Kennedy Jr., R-Nesconset, will come to an end with a family friendly comedy night featuring local stand up comics on Aug. 9.
