Police Seek Pair Who Used Stolen Credit Card at Walmart

A man stole the card from a shopping cart at Shop & Shop, police say. Reward offered for info leading to an arrest.

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate two people who they say were involved in using a stolen credit card in Islandia earlier this year.

According to police, a man stole a wallet from a shopping cart at Stop & Shop, located at 1730 Veterans Memorial Highway, on April 16 at about 12:45 p.m.

A credit card that was in the wallet was subsequently used at Walmart, located in the same shopping center, by the man who stole the wallet as well as a woman approximately 15 minutes later, police said.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
