RocketMan Brings Sounds of Elton John to Nesconset

Elton John tribute band to headline the Nesconset Summer Concert series on July 10.

 

Nesconset residents will all be singing along to the classic sounds of Elton John as Rocketman takes the stage this Tuesday night. 

Rocketman, a newly reformed Elton John Tribute band, is scheduled to take the stage at the Nesconset Summer Concert series on July 10 starting at 7:30 p.m.

Gina Coletti, president of the Nesconset Chamber of Commerce, said this is the first year that Rocketman has performed as part of the summer concert series. The once well-renknowed Long Island tribute band has reformed, according to Coletti, and will be bringing Elton John Classic's from "Bennie and the Jets" and "Tiny Dancer" to "Circle of Life. 

All performances start 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays at the Nesconset gazebo, which is located adjacent to the Nesconset branch of the Smithtown Public Library at 148 Smithtown Boulevard in Nesconset.

Residents are advised to bring lawn chairs and blankets to have place to sit, and are welcome to bring food and drink. Suffolk County police will be on hand to assist with parking and ensure pedestrian safety. 

Long Island Cares, a Hauppauge-based food bank, will have a booth at each concert to collect non-perishable food and monetary donations. 

The Nesconset Fire Department will be on site selling water and sodas for $1 each to help fundraiser for the department and its community outreach efforts. 

In case of inclement weather, such as rain, residents can call 631-724-2643 to learn whether or not the concert will be held as scheduled. Raindates have been put aside if there is a need to reschedule.
