HAUPPAUGE STUDENTS AND STAFF CROCHET 175 INFANT HATS FOR BABIES AT ST. CATHERINE'S HOSPITAL

The Hauppauge Middle School Crochet for a Cause Club recently donated 175 infant hats that were crocheted by students, faculty and staff to St. Catherine of Siena Hospital in Smithtown, New York.

Each Thursday since January, Hauppauge High School Student Maia Gonzalez taught a core group of 12 to 15 female and one male students how to crochet. “Even though I was the volunteer mentor of the Crochet for a Cause Club, Maia pretty much ran the show. She is an amazing young person,” stated Library Media Specialist Brenda DePetris.
