Smithtown Town Board Discusses Town Code, Traffic Changes

Board will vote on whether to change town code relating to showrooms and microbreweries; install stop signs on Browns Road in Nesconset.

Smithtown Town Board will hold its first meeting of the month on Feb. 7, 2 p.m. at Town Hall on West Main Street in Smithtown.

On the Town Council's preliminary agenda, there will be a public hearing held on whether or not to change town buildings codes as relates to showrooms and microbreweries. It will also schedule future public hearings on plans for property developments on the corner of Route 347 and Mount Pleasant Road in Smithtown, and possible exemptions to the Firearms code.

Town board members will also be voting on whether or not to install stop signs to improve the flow of traffic on Browns Road in Nesconset at the intersection with Nicola Lane.
