STUDENT CREATIVITY ON DISPLAY

HAUPPAUGE ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS' ART SHOWS CELEBRATE STUDENT-ARTISTS' CREATIVITY

Hauppauge gymnasiums and cafeterias were transformed into student art galleries last month when Art Teachers Elisabeth Anziano and Beth LaVelle partnered with Artome to celebrate the talent of Hauppauge School District’s elementary school children on three separate nights of festivities. Hundreds of families shared in their children’s pride and enthusiasm for their artwork, which was professionally framed and displayed.

Artome, an art display company, provided the paper, while the teachers and students provided the creativity and inspiration to design the works of art. Artome then framed and displayed every child’s piece, which also was available for purchase. Proceeds from the purchases will be used for a school-wide art project in each Hauppauge School District elementary school.

“The art shows provided a unique opportunity to highlight creative expression in our community, stimulate imagination and creative thinking and build self-esteem among our students,” described Art Teacher Beth LaVelle. “The smiles on the children’s faces spoke volumes!”
