• Man charged with attempted murder after police chase in Haverstraw (newportdispatch.com) — Haverstraw residents should know that a 24-year-old local man is jailed on aggravated attempted murder and other charges after allegedly running over a village police officer, injuring three officers total, and leading a chase along Route 9W. The pursuit ended when he crashed into a Haverstraw police vehicle, and he has been remanded to the Rockland County Correctional Facility following arraignment in Village of Haverstraw Justice Court.
