• Sexual Predator Sentenced To 135 Months In Prison For Enticement Of A Minor – Currently Awaiting Trial On State Murder Charges (longisland.com) — A Haverstraw resident has been sentenced in federal court to more than 11 years in prison for coercing a minor to send explicit images over several years. Local agencies, including the Town of Haverstraw Police Department and Rockland County Sheriff’s Office, worked with the FBI on the case. Authorities urge residents to report any suspected child exploitation to the FBI tip line.
   

• Driver Who Walked Away From Flaming Car On Thruway Was Nearly 3x The Legal Limit: NYSP (patch.com) — A Haverstraw man faces felony-level DWI charges after state police say he crashed into parked cars at the Palisades Mall, then hit a Thruway barrier before his truck caught fire in Greenburgh. Troopers report his blood alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit and are using the case to remind residents about safe-ride options.
   

• Rockland businesses enlist NY regulator in CHPE roadwork fight (lohud.com) — Rockland businesses from Congers to Stony Point are still fighting for compensation after Champlain Hudson Power Express roadwork along Route 9W hurt revenues, and they’ve now asked state regulators to step in. The power line briefly surfaces in Rockland to avoid environmentally sensitive Haverstraw Bay, bringing traffic detours and lingering customer loss. Local leaders say they support clean energy but want fair treatment for corridor merchants.
