Man Who Killed 76-Year-Old Granddad Gets 90 Years In Prison: DA

Allen Cooper told reporters he "didn't give a f---" after he was arrested for killing three men outside the Ingersoll Houses in 2015.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — The man who shot a 76-year-old bystander dead when he took out two rival drug dealers has been sentenced to 90 years in prison, according to prosecutors.

Allen Cooper, 33, was convicted of murder in October for shooting Lacount Simmons, 39, and Calvin Clinkscales, 43, near 58 Fleet Walk around 1:45 a.m. on Sept. 20, 2015, said prosecutors.

Herbert Brown, 76, a grandfather and fiancé who happened to be walking by, caught a bullet in the stomach and later died in Methodist Hospital, according to the Brooklyn District Attorney’s office.

Simmons and Clinkscales were both shot in the head and torso and died outside the Ingersoll Houses, prosecutors said.

Cooper was arrested in Fayetteville, North Carolina on April 22, after a tipster told police where to find him, said prosecutors.

When Cooper was led out of Brooklyn's 88th precinct, he told reporters he didn't "give a f---" about the people he had killed, the Daily News reported.

Cooper reportedly said, "I'm here and they're not.”

Cooper was sentenced to 90 years in prison following his conviction on three counts of murder and criminal possession of a weapon in Brooklyn criminal court, prosecutors said.

“This defendant chose to settle a score with a gun, killing two men and tragically striking a senior citizen who just happened to be in the area, killing him too,” said Acting District Attorney Eric Gonzalez.

“This ruthless violence makes the defendant unfit to be part of our community, and today’s sentence ensures that he will spend the rest of his life behind bars.”
