York St. F Station + Exciting Events At Brooklyn Bridge Park

Good morning Dumbo/Brooklyn Heights! Welcome to the debut edition of Patch's Dumbo/Brooklyn Heights Daily, a five-minute update on all the day's most important news, events, and general goings-on. Here are the top stories today in Brooklyn Heights-DUMBO:

  1. Frustrated DUMBO neighbors are pushing for the MTA to build a second entrance to the York St. F train station, which hasn't been updated since 1930. Due to the recent development boom in the area, locals say the station is more crowded than ever during rush hour. Local elected officials including Councilmember Steve Levin and State Senator Brian Kavanagh, spoke at a recent press conference. (Subscription: Brownstoner, Free version: Brooklyn Daily Eagle)
  2. Two private high schools in Brooklyn Heights – St. Ann's and Packer – made it onto a list of the best private schools in NYC. (Brooklyn Bridge Parents)
  3. A local entrepreneur is opening a kitchen remodeling business in North Brooklyn, that will service DUMBO and Brooklyn Heights. Bruce Jaeger's services will be open for residential and commercial kitchens. (Franchising.com)
  4. Developers reveal the façade of a 23-story residential building at 308 Livingston St. When it's completed in early 2022, the building will have 160 units. (New York YIMBY)
