119 Hicksville Students Join National Junior Honor Society

The middle school students were inducted into the society during a candlelight ceremony.

One hundred and nineteen students at Hicksville Middle School were inducted into the National Junior Honor Society at a candlelight ceremony held at Bernard H. Braun Auditorium.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Carl Bonuso encouraged the students to continue their hard work and dedication to excellence, and commended them for their inductions to the prestigious group. Principal Mara Jorisch administered the pledge of the Verisage Chapter, and National Junior Honor Society officers helped to welcome the inductees to the Hicksville Middle School Chapter.

Criteria for entry included students’ demonstration of academic prowess and a commitment to service and leadership. The event, which culminated with a reception for inductees and their families, recognized the well-rounded excellence of students at Hicksville Middle School.
