Field Trip Grant Sends Hicksville Students to the Zoo

Old Country Road Elementary School third-grade teacher Christine Palmieri was selected as a recipient of a Target Field Trip Grant, and the school’s entire grade level will supplement its science lessons with a visit to the Queens Zoo in the spring as a result.

The $675 grant, which will cover the costs of the trip, will provide the third-graders with the opportunity to observe and analyze zoo exhibits, and participate in an educational program on animal adaptations.
