Hicksville Kicks off the School Year
So long, summer. Students were welcomed back to class Wednesday.
Hicksville Public School District began the 2016-2017 year on Wednesday, warmly welcoming incoming and returning students throughout its nine schools.
Students at each grade level participated in a variety of fun and educational activities as part of the first day of school. The district’s Class of 2029 began kindergarten at each of the elementary schools, while the Classes of 2021 and 2017 entered their final years at the Hicksville Middle School and Hicksville High School, respectively. In addition, a new pre-K program was introduced at Dutch Lane Elementary School this year.
The district’s first day of school served to mark the beginning of a year that promises to be full of students’ achievements and their academic enrichment.
