Hicksville School Budget Passes

HICKSVILLE, NY--Hicksville residents approved a 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday.

The $139,348,682 proposed budget was approved by a margin of 916-329. The budget is a 2.7 percent increase from the current year's. It's accompanied by a 1.99 percent bump in the tax levy. That is at the district's tax levy cap, so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.

Carla Hoene, the incumbent school board secretary, ran unopposed. Linda Imbriale ran unopposed for a seat as trustee. Terms are three years.
