Hicksville Students Battle Bullying With Art

Winners of the art contest were each awarded $250.

Hicksville High School students showed their support for anti-bullying through creative expression in the form of an art contest.

Approximately 75 students participated in the competition, which was hosted by the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying. Each student used various mediums to show what they think a bully-free community looks like. They expressed their views through literature, visual arts and multimedia.

The first-place winners were senior Gabriella Morante, junior Kenneth Goubran, sophomore Medjie Chery and freshman Ariel Andi Yeh. The second-place winners were senior David Nakashian, junior Harleen Kau Anand, sophomore Alexa Kozak and freshman Sage Boiko.
