Man Armed With Shotgun Robs Nassau Gas Station

The robbery occurred Sunday night, police say.

A man armed with what appeared to be a shotgun robbed a Westbury gas station Sunday night, police say.

According to authorities, the man entered Exxon Mobil, located at 79 Old Country Road, approached the clerk, displayed the weapon and demanded cash at 11:15 p.m. The clerk complied and put cash into the robber's grey knit hat.

The man fled the scene on foot north out of the parking lot and then westbound onto Myrtle Avenue.

No customers were in the store at the time of the robbery and no injuries were reported.

Police described the man as 5 feet 8 to 10 inches tall, with a stocky build, and wearing a camouflage hooded jacket, black pants, dark boots, ski mask, glasses and latex gloves.

Detectives ask anyone with information regarding this robbery to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.

Earlier this month, a 7-Eleven in Uniondale was robbed by a man armed with a shotgun.
