Man Beaten By Would-Be Robber In Nassau
Police say the man was walking when someone tried to rob him, and then beat him when he refused.
A man was beaten when he refused to give his phone to an attempted robber on Thursday night.
According to Nassau police, a 35-year-old man was walking on Carleton Street and Old Country Road in New Cassel at 11:45 p.m. when he was approached by an unknown man. The man demanded the victim's cell phone. When he refused, the would-be robbery hit the man in the face and head with a hard object, causing swelling and cuts to the man's face.
The robber then fled on foot north on Carleton Street. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The attacker was tall and heavy set. He was wearing a gray shirt and black pants.
Police ask anyone with information about this attack to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous, and you could receive a cash reward if your information leads to an arrest.
