Man Drove With Loaded Gun In Pocket: Nassau Police

A man was arrested and charged after allegedly driving with a loaded gun in a car that smelled strongly of marijuana: Nassau Police.

HICKSVILLE, NY—A man was arrested in Hicksville on Saturday for allegedly carrying a loaded gun, the Nassau County Police Department said.

Andrew Goulbourne, 24, of Hempstead, was speeding in a gray 2008 Nissan Ultima southbound through Cantiague Park around 7:20 p.m., police said. Officers stopped him at W. John Street at Charlotte Avenue.

When the officers approached, they noticed a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car. Goulbourne was removed from the car, and upon searching him, police found a loaded .22 caliber Derringer hand gun in his right pocket, police said. Goulbourne was arrested without incident.

Goulbourne was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of marijuana and multiple VTL violations. He was arraigned on Sunday at First District Court, Hempstead.
