Man Left Children In Car While Getting Massage: Nassau Police

Nassau police say a Brentwood man left his girlfriend's sons (ages 3 and 9) unattended in an unlocked car for a massage in Hicksville.

HICKSVILLE, NY--A Brentwood man was accused of leaving his girlfriend's two boys (ages 3 and 9) in his car unattended with the doors unlocked while he got a massage, the Major Case Bureau-Narcotics Vice Squad reported. The incident took place Wednesday at 5:20 p.m. in Verma Plaza on South Broadway in Hicksville.

Detectives observed Jonathan Lopez, 28, park his car and enter a massage parlor with the two boys still inside the car. Detectives secured the children and car before they entered the massage parlor to arrest Lopez, who was apprehended without incident. The boys were then placed in their mother's care.

Lopez was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday, May 23, at First District Court, Hempstead.
