Nassau County Mom Stabs Dad Of 3-Year-Old Daughter, Police Say

WESTBURY, NY — A Westbury woman faces attempted murder charges after police said she stabbed a man — reportedly the father of her 3-year-old daughter — while the child was with her.

Police were called to a Roosevelt home on Oswalt Place around 5:30 p.m. Sunday. There they found a 30-year-old man who had been stabbed in the chest area, police said. He was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Tyana Cooper Waite, 26, was taken into custody at her home, police said. She faces charges including second-degree attempted murder, evidence tampering and endangering the welfare of a child.

Newsday reported the man was the father of Waite's child.
