• High schoolers revved to build hot rod pickup (midhudsonnews.com) — Students at John Jay High School in Hopewell Junction are back in the garage, building a Factory Five 1935 Hot Rod Replica Truck through the Winners Circle Project. The program gives them real-world engineering, marketing, and project-management experience, and their finished vehicle will be auctioned at Mecum Auctions to help fund future hands-on learning opportunities.
   

• Classrooms to careers: Hudson Valley Credit Union awards college scholarships to student members (cuinsight.com) — A Hopewell Junction student, Jacob Cheung, is among eight Hudson Valley Credit Union members awarded college scholarships this year, and he's heading to the University of Pennsylvania.
