• United Way of the Southern Tier awards nearly $200k to senior programs (mytwintiers.com) — Hornell seniors are set to benefit from a new $4,500 United Way grant for a Tri-County YMCA Senior Lunch & Learn program in the city. The funding is part of nearly $200,000 awarded to 15 Chemung and Steuben County agencies to expand services that help older adults stay safe, active, and independent.

• Steuben County Declares May, As Mental Health Awareness Month (wlea.net) — Steuben County is marking May as Mental Health Awareness Month and highlighting the many counseling, crisis, and recovery services available to residents, including those in Hornell. From clinic visits and mobile crisis response to jail-based treatment and recovery programs, Community Services and its partners emphasize that help is close to home and just a phone call away.
