• Group aims to 'finish' Hornellsville Civil War monument, 136 years later (bluewaterhealthyliving.com) — A local veteran is leading a “Finish the Monument” campaign to finally add the names of Hornellsville Civil War soldiers to the long-unfinished monument in Hope Cemetery. Working with the Canisteo Valley Historical Society, organizers are fundraising to sandblast or bronze-plate up to 180 names and have already cleaned the monument, restored nearby graves, and compiled a detailed roster for Hornell institutions.
   

• The Spectator announces print frequency changes. What does it mean? (eveningtribune.com) — Subscribers in the Hornell area will soon see The Spectator’s print edition reduced to just Wednesdays and Saturdays starting Oct. 1, while keeping full digital access every day. Papers will arrive by mail, a weekend edition will replace Sunday delivery, and readers can still follow detailed Hornell coverage online, including school projects, sports honors, and recognition for St. Ann’s Church.
   

• Elizabeth Ann 'Betty' Ebert, 94, Hornell • The KEUKA SUN (keukasun.com subscription) — Hornell residents are invited to pay their respects to Elizabeth Ann “Betty” Ebert, with calling hours on Thursday, Aug. 27, and a funeral Mass at St. Ann’s Church on Friday, Aug. 28. Her family suggests memorial contributions to the Hornell Family YMCA or the Hornell Area Humane Society, and notes that a more complete obituary will be shared later.
