• Two Found Dead In Separate NY Rescue Operations On July 29th (wgna.com) — Hortonville’s volunteer firefighters were among several local departments called to a tragic July 29 swift-water rescue in Sullivan County, where a driver was found deceased in a submerged vehicle. State forest rangers and multiple agencies joined forces in that operation and another fatal search in Erie County, underscoring both the dangers of New York’s wildlands and the critical role of local responders.
