• Teen drowns at Fawn's Leap in Hunter (newportdispatch.com) — A 15-year-old boy from Brooklyn drowned on April 18 at Fawn’s Leap in Hunter after being trapped by a powerful hydraulic current beneath the waterfall. Local police, forest rangers, Hunter Area Ambulance, and nearby fire departments responded, but the teen could not be revived after about 20 minutes in the water and was later pronounced dead at Columbia Memorial Hospital.
