4 Sold Vapes Or E-Cigarettes To Minors In Huntington: Police

HUNTINGTON, NY — Four people accused of selling vapes and e-cigarettes to minors in Huntington were arrested on Monday, Suffolk police said.

Officers of the Second Precinct investigated the sale of vapes and e-cigarettes to underage people after receiving community complaints. Officers checked 12 businesses to see if they were complying with the law.

Clerks at the following four shops sold vapes or e-cigarettes to minors, police said:

• Gotham Smoke, at 681 Route 25, Huntington.
• Cigar House Smoke and Vape Shop, at 594 Walt Whitman Road, Huntington.
• Gulf Gas Station, at 532 Walt Whitman Road, Huntington.
• Smoke Bazaar Smoke Shop and Vape Shop, at 526 Walt Whitman Road, Huntington.

Clerks from the four shops were charged with second-degree unlawfully dealing with a child (a class B misdemeanor).

All four employees were issued field appearance tickets and are scheduled to appear at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.

Compliance checks were conducted at eight other businesses in the Second Precinct with no violations found.
