6 Long Island School Districts Make AP Honor Roll
Just 433 school districts across the nation were recognized.

Six school districts on Long Island are among 433 in Canada and America that were recognized for their students’ achievements in Advanced Placement classes.
Overall, 25 New York school districts were named to the College Board’s 7th Annual AP District Honor Roll.
The AP Honor Roll recognizes districts that offer high levels of AP classes while having high numbers of students receiving final exam scores of three or more, on a scale of one to five.

The 7th Annual AP District Honor Roll is based on the examination of three years of AP data, from 2014 to 2016, for the following criteria:
- Increased participation in taking the exams;
- Increased or maintained the percentage of African-American, Hispanic/Latino and American Indian/Alaska Native students taking the exams;
- Increased or maintained the percentage of African American, Hispanic/Latino and American Indian/Alaska Native students scoring 3 or more on at least one AP Exam; and
- Improved performance levels.

- Bayport-Blue Point Union Free School District
- Elwood Union Free School District
- Manhasset Union Free School District
- Mount Sinai Union Free School District
- Shelter Island Union Free School District
- Westbury Public Schools
Elwood, Manhasset and Mount Sinai school districts received this recognition for multiple years. Westbury Public Schools were recognized for having a 30 percent or greater enrollment on American Indians, African Americans and Hispanic/Latino students.
