Assemblyman Chad Lupinacci (R,C,I-South Huntington) recently attended the Stony Brook Department of Transplant Living Donor Ceremony at Stony Brook University Hospital. He met donors who presented their living recipients with a “Medal of Honor.”
“It was an honor to share such a special moment with donors who were willing to provide the gift of life to close friends or complete strangers. These generous men and women deserve to be recognized for their efforts to make our world a better place,” said Lupinacci.
Lupinacci also kicked off Organ Donor Awareness month by awarding Huntington Station native Christopher Melz with an Assembly Proclamation for donating his kidney after a childhood friend began dialysis treatment for end-stage renal failure.
