Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested in Whitman Shops Parking Lot
Man accused of robbing a bank in Rocky Point earlier this week.

A 26-year-old Miller Place man with a lengthy bank robbery history has been arrested and charged in Tuesday’s robbery of the Capital One bank in Rocky Point, police said.
Max Schneider is charged with third degree robbery, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and violation of a parole warrant.
Following an investigation, Pattern Crime Unit detectives and Larceny Task Force detectives located and identified Schneider as he pulled into the Walt Whitman Shops parking lot in Huntington Station at about 5:45 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Schneider attempted to escape from police and his 2012 Honda Civic collided with two detective vehicles before he was taken into custody, police said.
Schneider is alleged to have robbed the Capital One bank located at 366 Route 25A at 9:10 a.m. on Tuesday.

He was held overnight at the Sixth Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
He was arrested in 2011 for robbing seven Suffolk County banks. He was convicted of third degree robbery, but served less than a year in prison, according to state prison records. He was released from prison on Jan. 17, 2014. On Feb. 6, 2014, he was arrested on charges of stealing bronze vases from Pinelawn Cemetery in Farmingdale.
