Brannigan Honored By State Assembly, Senate
"After winning two gold medals in London, it's important we take the chance to honor his accomplishments here at home," Lupinacci said

Assemblyman Chad A. Lupinacci (R,C,I,Ref.—South Huntington) joined the Huntington delegation of the New York State Legislature on Wednesday to honor Mikey Brannigan, a local Paralympic gold medalist. Brannigan, a resident of Northport and a 2015 graduate of Northport High School, stood before his peers to accept a lifetime achievement award. Lupinacci, along with Assemblyman Andrew Raia, Senator Carl Marcellino, and Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan presented the award and gave remarks to the students, parents, fans and supporters of Brannigan.
“As Mikey is the only individual in history to hold the record in the mile, 1500 meter, 3000 meter and 5000 meter simultaneously, his story is truly amazing,” said Lupinacci. “After winning two gold medals in London, it’s important we take the chance to honor his accomplishments here at home. Mikey continues to make his state, county and nation proud – but more importantly, he makes his friends and family proud. He is truly our hometown hero and an inspiration to us all.”
