MELVILLE, NEW YORK (JANUARY 2023) — The Long Island Water Conference (LIWC) has elected Brendan J. Warner, P.E. to its Board of Directors as Secretary for 2023. Warner currently serves as the Director of Construction-Maintenance of the Suffolk County Water Authority (SCWA), where he oversees the Authority’s over 6,000 miles of water main, including all water main extension and replacement projects. Warner will serve alongside his fellow board members—Chairman John Kilpatrick of Liberty New York Water, Vice Chairman Jason Belle of the West Hempstead Water District and 2nd Vice Chairman Robert McEvoy of the Oyster Bay Water District—to ensure that Long Island’s water providers continue to serve the highest quality water to residents and properly maintain the security of this valuable natural resource.

“It is an honor to have been selected to the Board of Directors of the Long Island Water Conference,” said LIWC Secretary Brendan Warner. “It is an incredible opportunity to enhance the water utility industry and diligently serve the people of Long Island.”

Warner previously worked for CH2M Hill in construction management, consulting on projects for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection, the New York City Department of Design and Construction and the Nassau County Department of Public Works. He then joined the public sector, managing capital projects on the Lincoln and Holland Tunnels for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey before working for the SCWA. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York. Warner received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Brown University and his MS in Civil Engineering from Columbia University.
