HUNTINGTON, NY — Camp Good Mourning!, a Huntington-based nonprofit, will receive donations from Macy's in the Walt Whitman Shops between Oct. 16 and Oct. 31, the camp announced.

The charity offers Long Island children and teenagers grieving the loss of a parent and/or sibling free bereavement camp programs.

Each month, Macy's corporate office chooses a national charity to benefit from its "Round Up" campaign, where customers can round-up their in-store purchase up to 99 cents and donate it to the chosen charity.

Once a year, each Macy's is given the opportunity to choose their own local charity. The Macy's in South Huntington chose Camp Good Mourning! as its recipient.

"Camp Good Mourning! is thrilled, honored and grateful to be chosen by Macy’s Walt Whitman, as its local 'Round Up' Campaign charity recipient for 2023!" Paul Rubin, founder of the charity, told Patch. "The money donated by shoppers will go far in helping Camp Good Mourning! to provide FREE bereavement camp programs for our campers and assist us in fulfilling our mission. We look forward to growing our relationship with Macy’s Walt Whitman and partnering with them again to support Long Island children coping with the death of a parent and/or sibling."
