Chipotle Breach: See List Of All 23 Long Island Locations Affected

Chipotle has identified malware that it says was used to steal customer payment data over a span of just more than three weeks, and 23 Long Island locations were among those affected by the breach.

In a news release Friday, the company said customer information was compromised between March 24 and April 18. The malware searched for track data, which at times has cardholder name in addition to card number, expiration date and internal verification code. Chipotle said the malware searched for the information from the magnetic stripe of the payment card.

Chipotle said that the malware has since been removed and no other customer information was stolen. The company provided a list of locations that were affected by the breach on its website, though it is unclear how many customers were affected by the breach.

A spokesman for the company told Reuters that the breach hit roughly 2,250 restaurants.

The news of the breach comes more than a year after an E.coli outbreak, which diminished customer trust in the popular restaurant. Chipotle disclosed the breach at an investor meeting in April.

The Long Island locations affected by the breach are listed below:

• Carle Place: 135 Old Country Road, affected between March 24 and April 18.
• Deer Park: 1090 The Arches Circle, affected between March 25 and April 18.
• Farmingdale: 901 Broadhollow Road, affected between March 24 and April 18.
• Garden City: 630 Old Country Road, affected between March 26 and April 18.
• Great Neck: 44 Great Neck Road, affected between March 26 and April 18.
• Hauppauge: 694 Motor Parkway, affected between March 26 and April 18.
• Hauppauge: 387 Nesconset Highway, affected between March 27 and April 18.
• Hicksville: 195 N. Broadway, affected between March 24 and April 18.
• Huntington Station: 435 Walt Whitman Road, affected between March 24 and April 18.
• Lake Grove: 2093 Smithaven Plaza, Suite C, affected between April 11 and 18.
• Lawrence: 331 Rockaway Turnpike, affected between March 26 and April 18.
• Levittown: 3629 Hempstead Turnpike, affected between March 27 and April 18.
• Little Neck: 254-65 Horace Harding Expressway, affected between March 26 and April 18.
