HUNTINGTON, NY — The Clubhouse, a Huntington mainstay since 1962, has been seized by New York State for unpaid taxes, Huntington Now reported.

The restaurant was seized on Tuesday and owes the state $168,481.02, James Gazzale, a spokesman for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance, told Newsday.

The steakhouse was founded in 1962 by John and Geraldine Bies and is currently managed by their son, Jeffrey, according to its website.

The Clubhouse had won several awards for fine dining, per Huntington Now.

The restaurant's ownership couldn't be immediately reached for comment on its future.

The business' entrees include porterhouse or Chateaubriand for two or three, T-Bone, New York strip, bone-in rib eye, filet mignon, as well as some non-steak options such as Scottish salmon, lobster tails, baby back ribs and more.

Diners could also order appetizers such as chicken wings, escargot, crab cake, shrimp cocktail, crispy fried calamari, soups and salads. There were a handful of sandwiches as well, like Angus rib eye French dip, filet mignon, a Waygu beef hot dog, as well as a sirloin and filet mignon burger sandwich.

The Clubhouse is located at 320 W. Jericho Turnpike, Huntington.
