Cold Spring Harbor HS Has National Merit Finalist

COLD SPRING HARBOR, NY — Caitlin M. Roberts, a senior at Cold Spring Harbor High School, was presented with her certificate of merit for being named a National Merit Finalist 2022 in what was a proud moment for the school, according to a news release.

Principal Daniel Danbusky and guidance counselor Mary-Jo Hannity presented Roberts with the certificate.

The academic distinction places her in an elite group representing approximately half of the top 1 percent of American high school seniors. She is one of only 2,500 seniors among 1.6 million eligible students to receive this impressive recognition.

Rankings are based on students’ scores on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test, which is given in the fall of their junior year. After qualifying as a semifinalist in the fall of 2021, finalists must continue to demonstrate a commitment to high academic standards and other requirements to advance.

"The Cold Spring Harbor Central School District is extremely proud of Caitlin M. Roberts, commends her for her commitment to success, and congratulates her on this remarkable achievement," the district wrote in a statement.
