Community Rallies for South Huntington Resident in Need of Liver Transplant
Alanna Ambrosio is on the liver transplant list just six years after getting a double lung transplant.

A South Huntington resident is patiently waiting to get a liver transplant after learning two weeks ago that her liver is failing.
Just six years ago, Alanna Ambrosio, 25, was in a similar situation. She was in need of a double lung transplant due to having the genetic lung disease Cystic Fibrosis.
Alanna was on life support for two weeks and received new lungs with just hours left to live.

A friend created a GoFundMe page for Alanna to support her during this time.
“I have always looked up to Alanna because despite feeling horrible and being in pain, she continues to push herself to go to work, pay bills and maintain a ‘normal’ life even when she's suffering,” donation page creator Jenna Strickland wrote.
The GoFundMe page has raised nearly $4,000 in nine days with a donation goal of $50,000. You can donate to the “Alanna Ambrosio Liver Transplant” fund here.
